Chris Casali is a Sydney based Artist.
Her artistic practice predominantly resides in painting and drawing, with an interest in surrounding environments that influence intuitive and responsive art making. This exploration attempts to understand and question the purity of artistic practice whilst using painting and drawing as a vehicle for mediated art processes and viewing platforms. Her artworks interpret inhabited landscapes as fractured, obscured and disconnected form. Images are not representational, there is a movement towards the abstraction with hints of natural reference that resonate a connection to the land, the sea and its continued abuse and degradation of.
Casali graduated from the National Art School, Sydney, Australia in the late 1990’s and is currently completing a Master of Fine Art at the UNSW, Art and Design. She has exhibited her work in international and regional galleries plus artist run spaces.
